Rahul Gandhi, a congressman and former Wayanad member of parliament, spoke sharply to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) administration on Thursday about the Manipur problem.

Rahul Gandhi released a video message the day after Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani accused him of "setting Manipur on fire," stating that PM Modi has nothing to do with the violent state because he is the Prime Minister of only a small group of people.

Smriti Irani, the federal minister for women's and children's development, leveled a damning charge in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. 

Irani claimed that Gandhi and other opposition parties had kept quiet about atrocities against women in states where the BJP was not in power. Irani failed to pull.any punches, accusing Gandhi of starting the violence in Manipur.

When will you have the guts to explain to us how women are violated in states where Congress is in power? When will you have the courage to reveal Rahul Gandhi's role in setting Manipur ablaze? Do not disparage the female ministers in this government, she chided, to raucous applause from the lawmakers of her party.

"BJP-RSS just cares about power and will stop at nothing to obtain it. Manipur and the entire nation would be set on fire in the pursuit of power. They don't care about the nation's suffering, he continued.

The Congress politician said that the BJP and RSS were "splitting India" and added, "You have patriotism in your heart. You experience the agony when the nation suffers or when one of its citizens does. However, because they are separating India, BJP-RSS supporters do not experience any suffering.
